Few players in the NRL boast the athletic ability of Anthony Watmough.
As an 18-year-old, the Manly junior made his debut with the Northern Eagles, providing the first glimpse of his raw talent.
When the Eagles folded, Watmough found a home in the Manly back row – and he looks set for a long stay.
Watmough is one of the players the Sea Eagles are building their club around. His pace and power belies his relative youth.
The Narrabeen junior runs like an outside back and defends like a terrier.
He forms part of a quality Sea Eagles back row alongside the likes of Ben Kennedy and Steve Menzies.
There seemed little doubt Watmough - the Sea Eagles’ players’ player in 2004 - also boasted the talent to play representative rugby league.
And he did just that in 2005, playing for City against Country before making his State of Origin debut for NSW. In doing so, he stamped himself as a future international.
