Oliver Bozanic is one of the country's emerging stars, an attacking left-sided midfielder in the Harry Kewell mode with genuine hopes of playing in the Premier League.

Coming from good footballing stock - Oliver's father Vic played in the old National Soccer League - Bozanic has also captured the eye of good judges in this country.

Bozanic was captain of the Australian under 17 side, the Joeys, and looks set to become a part of the green and gold set-up for years to come.

But his immediate future lies in England thanks to the sharp eye of former Socceroo Andrew Bernal.

It was Bernal who arranged for Bozanic to trial with Premier League club Reading as a 16-year-old in 2005. Bozanic impressed enough to win a scholarship with the Premier League outfit.

He returned home but, after spending time with A League club Central Coast and training with the Olyroos, he packed his bags and departed for England, taking up a contract with Reading.

He has been a fixture in Reading's reserve set-up, playing in the 2007/08 Premier League reserve final against Bolton.

Bozanic remains on the cusp of first team football with Reading however he had a set back with Glandular Fever during the summer of 2008 and is currently on loan to Woking. He seems certain to follow the trail blazed by Kewell and others by becoming a Premier League player.

Beyond that, the Socceroos beckon for one of this country's brightest hopes after helping the Australian Under 20s side secure a place in the Under 20s Soccer World Cup in 2010.
